Course Details

How we use our energy at work is important for our well-being, performance and productivity. In a world that is constantly changing, we seem to spend more time being switched onto work. There are many different reasons for why we work, and how work becomes central to our lives.  For some of you it will be about the money.  For others work offers a sense of identity, belonging, stability, recognition and social connection.  

We are expected at work to keep up with constant organisational, technological and process change, to do more with less and often being asked to perform the work of two people!  All the while we are still trying to have a life outside of work that is enjoyable and satisfying.  How we manage all of this is a reflection of the importance of work and how central it is to our lives.  We all know of someone who was so busy or committed to their work that they were willing to sacrifice time with their family and friends.  These sacrifices often have consequences later in life. 

On a day to day basis, it’s no surprise that many of us feel more frazzled, even exhausted. Our jobs are actually wearing some of us out!  As our stress in the workplace rises, we become less productive.  That’s because we use our energy to combat stress, rather than using it to power our work performance and output.

Unfortunately, we can also take that stress home affecting our loved ones. 

We owe it to ourselves, our team members, our families and everyone we interact with to manage our energy.  This enables us to be our most productive and best self at work, at home and in all of our interactions with others.

In this module, you will be guided to develop skills that will help you to better manage your energy at work.  This will help you to operate at your peak in the workplace, and to go home more refreshed and more able to participate in the things that are important in your life.
